GAVIN HUNT NOT A FAN OF MAMELODI SUNDOWNS STAR LUCAS RIBEIRO?
We edging closer to the annual Premier Soccer League (PSL) end of the season awards, Gavin Hunt believes Sundowns superstar Ribeiro is not the best player in the country. Instead, the likes of Teboho Mokoena and Makhehleni Makhaula should take the honour.
Speaking on SuperSport TV this past weekend, the former SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs coach questioned Lucas Ribeiro as the leading Player of the Season. According to Hunt, the Brazilian would struggle with a smaller team due to his low work ethic.
“Ribeiro scores goals, but if you put him in Magesi, he will struggle. He would need to work harder there,” Hunt said on SuperSport TV.
“Teboho Mokoena is the best player in South Africa.
“At [Orlando] Pirates, the best player is the boy in the middle. I can’t say his name. It starts with an M. Makha… something. [Makhehleni Makhaula]. He is the best at Pirates. He is the glue.”
