Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and his household have been compelled to evacuate the governor’s mansion after an arsonist set it on hearth in a single day whereas they have been sleeping, he introduced.
The blaze broke out simply hours after the governor posted an image of his household celebrating the primary evening of Passover on Saturday, ABC 27 reported.
The arson assault stays underneath energetic investigation, police stated.
“Final evening at about 2AM, my household and I woke as much as bangs on the door from the Pennsylvania State Police after an arsonist set hearth to the Governor’s Residence in Harrisburg,” Shapiro wrote on twitter.
“The Harrisburg Bureau of Fireplace was on the scene and whereas they labored to place out the hearth, we have been evacuated from the Residence safely by Pennsylvania State Police and assisted by Capitol Police. Thank God nobody was injured and the hearth was extinguished,” he added.
The hearth was deemed as an “act of arson” and triggered a “vital quantity of injury” to the residence, in response to Pennsylvania State Police.
