The Glasgow Warriors No8 Henco Venter has been cited for an obvious eye-gouge on Dan Cole, the Leicester Tigers prop.
Throughout Glasgow’s 43-19 Investec Champions Cup last-16 victory over Leicester, Venter appeared to make contact with Cole’s eye as a maul fell earlier than the Warriors’ tryline at the start of the match.
Cole clutched his face after the incident, which was not noticed by the tv match official or the referee on the time. Venter scored two tries within the win and the South African was named participant of the match.
Cole, the 37-year-old tight-head prop who has 118 England caps, performed on till the 56th minute and after the sport Leicester made a grievance, which was picked up by the citing commissioner, Adrien Menez
