A-listers and world leaders alike are mourning Pope Francis within the wake of his dying.
The pinnacle of the Catholic Church, whose actual title was Jorge Mario Bergoglio, died on Monday morning after a months-long battle with pneumonia, in line with the Vatican.
He was 88 years outdated.
Francis met with Vice President JD Vance on Easter Sunday, and the politician paid his respects by way of X.
“I used to be glad to see him yesterday, although he was clearly very unwell,” the 40-year-old tweeted Monday. “Could God relaxation his soul.”
King Charles III, who met with Francis alongside Queen Camilla on April 6 — simply three days after the pope was discharged from the hospital — launched an announcement.
“My spouse and I had been most deeply saddened to study of the dying of Pope Francis,” the monarch, 76, wrote. “Our heavy hearts have been considerably eased, nonetheless, to know that his Holiness was in a position to share an Easter greeting.
“The Queen and I bear in mind with explicit affection our conferences with His Holiness over the years and we had been drastically moved to have been in a position to go to him earlier within the month,” he continued.
Whoopi Goldberg instructed Francis to “sail on” along with his “love of humanity and laughter” in her personal Instagram tribute.
The 69-year-old “View” co-host shared a photograph of herself shaking fingers with the pope in 2023, gushing, “He was the closest in a very long time that appeared to do not forget that Christ’s love enveloped believer and none [sic] believer.”
“Determined Housewives” alum Eva Longoria, for her half, re-posted information of the pope’s dying with a praying fingers emoji.
In the meantime, actor Antonia Banderas instructed his Instagram followers, “Pope Francisco has died — a person who, on the head of the Catholic Church, confirmed kindness, love, and mercy to the neediest folks.”
As for “Bridgerton” star Adjoa Andoh, who performs Girl Agatha Danbury, she wrote, “RIP Pope Francis. Throughout the constraints of his custom, manifestly compassionate and standing with the marginalized. What a loss.”
Francis was the primary Latin American pope and the primary Jesuit to be elected to the papacy.
He assumed the function in 2013.
