The South African leisure trade is mourning the heartbreaking lack of veteran actor Don Mlangeni Nawa, who handed away on the age of 65.
A GIANT HAS FALLEN
Extensively celebrated for his iconic roles in Isidingo, S’Gudi S‘naysi, Ubambo Lwami, and The River, Mlangeni’s demise has sparked an outpouring of tributes and condolences throughout social media and past.
On Wednesday, 16 April, his household issued an official assertion confirming his passing and shared their heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of affection and assist.
“It’s with deep heartbreak that we share the passing of our beloved father, Don Mlangeni Nawa, on 16 April 2025. He was the guts of our household — a loving father, brother, and pal.
“To the world, he was a gifted and revered actor whose presence lit up each stage and display screen he graced. His legacy lives on within the lives he touched, the tales he advised, and the love he gave so freely, the assertion mentioned.
The household has kindly requested privateness as they grieve their loss. In the meantime, particulars relating to the memorial and funeral preparations shall be introduced in the end.

A LASTING LEGACY
Don’s profession started in theatre earlier than he moved into tv within the early Nineteen Nineties. His efficiency in Isidingo earned him the Golden Horn Award for Finest Actor in a TV Cleaning soap in 2006.
In 2018, he acquired the Lifetime Achievement Award on the Royalty Soapie Awards, solidifying his place among the many greats of South African tv.
